your low_quality_video_standards dont interest me, just because YOU are too lazy to reformat the video for YOURSELF doesnt mean a higher quality version shouldnt be available to someone who actually cares about the difference in quality. it would have been a lot easier to upload had i reformatted it into a 700mb avi file, but some people (myself in this instance) are interested in preserving quality even if it means extra download time and creating a playlist before you start a film. this discussion is no more than politics, if you think your point_of_view has moar credence than mine, rtfm of archive.org which explicitly prefers source files/ not to mention the issue of burned in subtitles for culturally inept watchers.

yep it's true I am trying to understand??? why one would upload not one but two movies in multiple file formats to a site with very limited band with for down loading (right now anyway) in such a way that you would need a masters degree in computers and video to put it all on one single layer DVD disc (most common media right now you know?)

and then I wonder and ponder the fact that both movies are from the 60's and may not be PD at all? so who's being a pain in the butt I ask you? (lol)

well it's a hobby right? we all understand! thanks for your donation and such a great way to spend a Sunday after noon too!

We'er all here for ya guy!

hang in there you'll get it!

lol, you dont need a masters degree to rename the files and burn them as data, you're the one making it harder than it has to be. i'm giving you (and everyone else) DVD quality files, for those of us who have high def tvs, but more importantly to archive the highest quality source.

Ya I understand but keep posting those addresses would you? the search engine is still having problems here!

you know most folks don't know about that renaming files trick, rocket science stuff you understand?

Nero recode dose a pretty nice job of bringing the size down to a single layer size wonder if I guy could up load that? Just as another choice? you got kind of a data base going there anyway? (LOL)

just a thought.

i like mpeg2 dvd files better, not only cause the quality but because all i have to do is open up dvd wizard in nero and choose the file and it takes like 2 minutes to burn it not even. lol.
